Our Japanese-to-English Translation Features and Work Process
Each Japanese-to-English translation performed by Omega-Com is logical and correct, natural and smooth, feels appropriate to its purpose and is written in proper authentic style: we have the utmost confidence in the high quality of our work. This quality is guaranteed by our joint work process, which entails close collaboration between the best English native-speaker staff in Japan and richly experienced, highly knowledgeable Japanese colleagues.
As shown below, the Omega-Com Japanese-to-English translation process is comprehensive, producing English translations that are not only error-free and easy to read, but also crisp and powerful. Our process is also applicable to other languages, and is the greatest factor in our translation excellence.
STEP 1 Check and rewrite by a Japanese editor
The editor revises the illogical and inaccurate portions found in many Japanese texts, while also rephrasing expressions that do not translate well and rendering complicated passages such that a native speaker of English can then translate the text without misunderstanding. Sometimes an editor will need to completely rewrite a passage to make it like English in its logic, rhetoric and expressions. Additionally, a glossary or reference materials might be collected and prepared in order to assist the translator.

STEP 2 Native speaker translation
Omega-Com’s translators have been educated at well-known universities, are native to the target language, and have rich experience and editing skills. Their English linguistic sense is keen, their understanding of Japanese is impeccable, and their knowledge in specialized fields is unsurpassed. These qualifications ensure that each text is well translated.

STEP 3 Primary check by a Japanese editor
The editor checks the text for completeness as well as numerical or proper noun-related errors, and corrects them as necessary. He or she then finds and revises any incorrect translations and proposes a more logical and natural expression.

STEP 4 Secondary check by a Japanese supervisor
The supervisor checks the English text from the perspective of terminology, style, natural feel and ease of understanding. This person not only points out problems, but also suggests more understandable and natural English alternatives.

STEP 5 Rewrite by a native-speaker editor
An editor who is not the translator rewrites the text to be easier to understand and sound more natural. By this point, the text has changed into smooth, normal and powerful English writing, while remaining true to the original Japanese.
